On behalf of Letterplatters, I finally manage to get the ticket for this year's Ubud Writers & Readers Festival and it's not only for attending the events only. I would be going there to escort one of our titles, "Tigress" by Ayu Meutia which gonna be launched there on October, 30th at Hotel Tjampuhan.
I am so excited for Ayu and of course for the whole session for me to experience. Hopefully this moment could be another good drive for her to keep on writing! Anyhoo, for any of you who might never heard about this annual festival, below is the brief info about it.
About UWRF 2016
The Ubud Writers & Readers Festival is Southeast Asia’s leading festival of words and ideas. The Festival celebrates extraordinary stories, amplifies brave voices, and tackles global issues through the lens of literature and the arts.
The Festival brings together a diverse mix of Indonesian and international writers, speakers, thinkers, artists, advocates, commentators and activists, to create a space for cross-cultural dialogue and connection.
The 13th UWRF will be held 26–30 October, 2016, celebrating the theme Tat Tvam Asi or ‘I am you, you are me’. This powerful ideology is crucial to the collective identity of Indonesia—uniting people from incredibly diverse religious, ethnic, cultural and historical backgrounds to share common respect and understanding.
